1 Month Update

Suzie Scofield

24 Feb 2024

It's hard to believe that today marks 1 month since the official launch of Footprints Baby Loss charity.

It has been a busy time, Sharon and Suzie have been working really hard behind the scenes, alongside the volunteers, to get everything up and running.

We have had quite a remarkable number of people join our community and begin to access the support services. This proves the need for having this kind of peer support available to those who have experienced a loss from a multiple pregnancy. We have had lots of kind feedback already.

Our social media platforms are growing and seem to be doing a good job of spreading the word that this new charity has launched and that these support services are available.

We have been blown away by the support from other baby loss charities, who like Footprints, have a deep passion for helping others who are sadly walking in similar shoes.

Sharon and Suzie attended the ‘National Bereavement Midwives and Neonatal Palliative and Bereavement Care Nurses’ Network symposium, making important connections with lots of different health professionals from all over the UK and many others within the wider baby loss bereavement care community.

Sharon and Suzie have also been busy meeting local journalists, being interviewed for written articles, recording a podcast and even doing a live radio interview, all to help get the word out there about this new charity. We are really grateful for all the wonderful and heartfelt media coverage.

The launch campaign has been really successful and has almost hit the target. A huge thank you to anyone who has donated. It means a lot. Next, we have the Miles in March fundraising event, a family friendly challenge for anyone, young or old… please see details on the website under ‘Get Involved’.

Once again, thank you for all the support in these first few weeks.
